The Daily Read: “What The Hell Happened To The Library?” – A Note To Our Readers

Man oh man…

What a few months it’s been huh? We’ve mentioned that it was an extremely busy time for us over here at The Library this first quarter of the year, and now heading into the second quarter, things have turned up more than anticipated – and even faster than before. We’ve always pledged to keep it real with you guys on the latest in the blogging world and social commentary, and today that’s exactly what I plan to do – even if it means keeping it real is placing blame on ourselves.

The Library, a hub for all things fun, sarcastic, witty, and educational, has taken an unfortunate back seat to many of our personal endeavors outside of this illustrious site. It seems as if the moment I turned 25 and made the pledge that I will focus on my career and ultimate goal of landing an awesome full-time gig rather than the grueling task of being a freelance writer for another year of my life, there seems to be 24 fewer hours in the day than ever before.

Where we have grown exponentially since our debut in June of last year, we have hit a speed bump. The worst part of trying to make it in this blogging/entertainment industry, is trying to find time to do everything you want to do. From 850 events to attend in a week, to trying to fit in time to work out and then again to your full-time job and excel at it, it’s damn near impossible to find a moment to share with yourself. As something that I’ve written about several times in the past, time does not seem to be on our side these days, and that can be especially detrimental to a young site trying come up in the industry.

As you many of you may have noticed, the ladies and myself have been on a bit of a hiatus over the past few week, with a significant decline in new content starting since March. In order to reach our optimal goal of being a better media entity, we have to be honest and admit to when we have dropped the ball – and that time is now. On behalf of the girls, I would like to offer our sincerest apologies to our supporters and readers who have stuck with us since our inception. The mission to make the site into something great is not forgone and neither is our passion. We strive for excellence and to make our readers proud to call this their online destination, and at the end of the day, we have A LOT of work to do in order to ensure that is always true.

That being said, the site will be on hiatus for the rest of 2015.

While I know that sound unfortunate and like we’re ending, I promise you that we are definitely not going ANYWHERE. It takes time to build a media entity, and in order for us to be the best that we can be, we have to work on ourselves and building our business from within. Looking towards the future, we have a bunch of new and exciting endeavors lined up that will be occurring over the next few months – including an exciting relaunch campaign that will be starting up towards the end of the year, as well as our newsletter that will keep you up to date with all of our moves throughout this period of transition.

For all of you that continue to check us out daily, albeit in vain hopes that we’ll have something new and exciting up, we can’t thank you enough for your continued support. We’re absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of love that we’ve received over the past year – renewing our faith in the mind of our generation to genuinely appreciate our mission. From day one, there has been an outstanding appreciation for what we do and from the bottom of our hearts, we are humbled by it.

The flourish will continue to live on through all of our posts from the past, as well as through our newsletters and beyond! Be sure to keep up with us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for all of the up-to-the minute information on our next moves. Also, please please PLEASE sign up for our mailing list, so we can keep in touch throughout the re-launch process. We’ll be back before you know it!

Always with the realest love,

The Library.
