Shots were reportedly fired at Young Money rapper, Lil Wayne’s Miami mansion Wednesday…
When reports first broke no one knew if Wayne was involved or even at his place during these events scaring fans and onlookers, but that was quickly confirmed by the Young Money twitter account as well as Young Money President, Mack Maine. They both tweeted to let everyone know that Wayne was not involved or present at his home at the time of the incident.
Miami Beach Police responded to a phone call made to the non emergency dispatch line, which a man claimed that he had shot four people inside the home. Upon arrival police as well as SWAT set up a perimeter taking the matter very seriously. After searching the nine bedroom, nine bathroom home and speaking with staff, police found no suspects or injured victims in the home. Miami Beach Police chief confirmed it was a hoax, a case of swatting.
If you’re not familiar with the term, swatting takes place when someone places a high profile prank call or hoax to draw special attention. Miami police do not take these matters lightly at all and are searching for the perpetrator who made the call. This is the second time police have been to Wayne’s estate, earlier this week police were called after seeing someone suspicious on the property. Wayne took to instagram to let all of his fans know that it was indeed a prank call, captioning this picture, “Prank kall mane.. Oh yeah my bad #FWA“
We are glad to hear that Wayne is well and that no harm came to anyone in the home. I wonder how much the person got paid to make that call to dispatch, hopefully it was worth it! Maybe it’s time for Wayne to up the security anti! Check back here at for more details as they emerge!
