Mass murderer Charles Manson has obtained a marriage license to wed a 26 year old woman that visits him in prison.  The license was issed on November 7th for 80 year old Manson and Afton Elaine Burton.  The license doesn’t specify a wedding day but they have 90 days to get married or they will have to reapply.

Apparently, Burton left her Midwestern home nine years ago to move to Corcoran, California, the locaiton of the prison, to be closer to Manson.  Burton maintains multiple websites advocating for Manson’s innocense.

The Huffington Post reports,

Burton, who goes by the name “Star,” told the AP that she and Manson will be married next month.

“Y’all can know that it’s true,” she said. “It’s going to happen.”

“I love him,” she added. “I’m with him. There’s all kinds of things.”

Last year, Burton jumped the gun and revealed to Rolling Stone Magazine that she and Manson were to be married.  Manson on the other hand was reluctant to agree.  Apparently he has changed his mind.

California Department of Corrections spokeswoman, Terry Thornton, confirmed the license has been transmitted to the prison.  It is protocol that the prison designates a an employee to handle all marriage paperwork.  In most cases the department approves of the wedding as “a tool of family reunification and social development.” However, Manson is an unique case.

Manson has no parole and as an inmate with a life sentence he is not allowed to have family visitors or conjugal visits.  So why marry Manson we ask?  Burton  is interested on working on his case and can obtain information not available to non relatives.  Burton is convinced Manson is innocent and will receive a new trial.

Manson is spending life in prison for the August 9, 1969 murder of Sharon Tate and four others at her home and grocers Leno and Rosemary LaBianca who were killed the following night.  Manson will not be eligable for parole until 2027.  Good luck with that.
