Those $5 foot longs may not be the key to weight loss after all.
Zachary Torrance has been accused of robbing four Subway restaurants in Alabama after he confessed he wanted revenge. According to police, Torrance he was mad the ‘Jared Diet’ did not work for him and he wanted his money back. Who really thought that worked in the first place?
Torrance was arrested Thursday night and charged with first degree robbery for a robbery the previous day at the Hueytown Subway. At around 8:42 pm Torrance entered the store and demanded the cashier to open the register. Surveillance video of the incident was posted to the Heuytown Police Department Facebook page. A citizen recognized Torrance in a local Walmart wearing the same clothes as the suspect in the video; authorities were called.
According to Al.com,
Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler said Torrance admitted to the Hueytown holdup, and gave a bizarre motive.
“I don’t know if he was kidding or not, but he said he had tried the Jared diet and it hadn’t worked for him so he wanted his money back,”
For those not familiar with the “Jared Diet“, it is a weight loss program created by Jared Fogle who went from 425 pounds to 180 pounds by eating two low-fat sandwiches from Subway daily. He appeared in a multitude of commericals to show his weight transformation. A bunch of bologna if we’re being honest.
Torrance is currently in Jefferson County Jail on $250,000. He is suspected of robbing Subway restaurants in Birmingham, Midfield, and Adamsville. He will be charged at a later date.
