Independent film maker, Justin Simien, has just released the trailer for his new film, Dear White People. The films takes a satirical approach on what life is like for a black student at a predominatly white institution of higher learning. It won the Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent at the Sundance Film Festival.
Starring Tessa Thompson, it follows Thompson’s character Samantha White’s life as the DJ who runs a controversial campus radio show entitled, Dear White People. The project also stars countless familiar faces, including former Everybody Hates Chris star Tyler James Williams, as well as Teyonah Parris, Brandon P Bell, Kyle Gallner, Malcolm Barrett, Brittany Curran, Marque Richardson, and Dennis Haysbert.
