After spending over a month in serious condition following a deadly car crash , Tracy Morgan is finally back home in Creekskill, NJ. The New York Post caught the first glimpse of Morgan on Saturday showing another breakthrough in his extensive road to recovery.
The comedian is still using a wheelchair with his left leg is still bandaged, and he will be using a walker in his home. A therapist paid a 45-minute visit to Morgan on Saturday, making it his first full day at home.
“Tracy has been released from the rehabilitation center and will continue his recovery efforts at home with an aggressive outpatient program,” his publicist, Lewis Kay, confirmed. “He asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point”.
Morgan, suffered several cracked ribs and a badly broken leg before being moved to an inpatient rehab facility. The “30-rock” star was on his way home from a gig at a Delaware casino on June 7 when his limo was slammed from behind by a Wal-Mart truck driver.
Officials say Kevin Roper was driving 20 mph over the speed limit and fell asleep at the wheel after being awake for more than 24 hours before the crash. Those allegations are repeated in a negligence lawsuit filed against Roper and Walmart this week by Morgan and three other injured passengers.
It’s great to see Tracy Morgan doing better and in good spirits! He’s definitely on a long road of recovery, filled with support and help from his family, friends, and fans.
